On a Serious Note…

Some of you may (or may not) know that my mother passed away nearly a year ago. She had Rheumatoid Arthritis for as long as I can remember, each passing year escalating into something worse then the last. This developed into quite a few other diseases (most importantly heart failure) because of it’s nature to make your immune system basically hate your whole body. I found an interesting article which in my mind explains exactly what happened to my mom in her last two years. We aren’t entirely sure exactly what caused her death (felt that an autopsy was out of the question), but it seemed nearly every medication she tried to relieve the symptoms of R.A. helped a little and made everything else worse in the long-run. She’s litterally some of the statistics that require some of those companies to say “May cause heart failure and lower your immune system’s ability to fight other types of diseases.”

Experiencing first hand what she went through and how hard it was all around I decided to donate to the  Arthritis Foundation and now I’d like to give you the same opportunity. In fact if you donate and forward me a copy of the contribution notice I’ll match the donation.

If you decide to make a Memorial Contribution and don’t know anyone personally affected by R.A. you can make it in the name of my mother: Sabra Clayton.

Although hers was a highly advanced stage of the disease I feel for all the families affected by it, not to mention those actually fighting it. I pray that in 30 years I’m not in the same boat she was.

New Year Means Hosting Renewals

Josh No Comments »

If anyone needs some web / mysql hosting I can help you out! Had to renew our hosting at the beginning of the year and was auto-upgraded to a bit higher bandwidth and disk space ;)

Hit me up right here and I’ll hook you up. I can give you your own account not tied to mine with an FTP, MySQL, E-Mail, etc.

Too much for what we’ve got but I couldn’t pass up the deal :)

So I’ve updated some of the backend code of the site. Which has caused a couple of issues that I wasn’t aware of until someone pokes the right part of the site. Let me know in the comments if you come to something that isn’t working right or you get some sort of error somewhere. I apologize for the problems, our host likes to play games with us and when I update things everything seems to hate me all of the sudden lol.

On another note I really appreciate Joe from JackOfAllBlades mentioning us on his comic site. It’s driven our traffic through the roof compared to where it was at normally.  The Project Wonderful ads aren’t that bad either :D

Seriously though, if you have any ideas on enhancing the look, feel, or workings of the site don’t be afraid the mention it. I can’t make it like what you want if I don’t know what that is ;) .

Hit me up in the comments.
