Some of you may (or may not) know that my mother passed away nearly a year ago. She had Rheumatoid Arthritis for as long as I can remember, each passing year escalating into something worse then the last. This developed into quite a few other diseases (most importantly heart failure) because of it’s nature to make your immune system basically hate your whole body. I found an interesting article which in my mind explains exactly what happened to my mom in her last two years. We aren’t entirely sure exactly what caused her death (felt that an autopsy was out of the question), but it seemed nearly every medication she tried to relieve the symptoms of R.A. helped a little and made everything else worse in the long-run. She’s litterally some of the statistics that require some of those companies to say “May cause heart failure and lower your immune system’s ability to fight other types of diseases.”

Experiencing first hand what she went through and how hard it was all around I decided to donate to theĀ  Arthritis Foundation and now I’d like to give you the same opportunity. In fact if you donate and forward me a copy of the contribution notice I’ll match the donation.

If you decide to make a Memorial Contribution and don’t know anyone personally affected by R.A. you can make it in the name of my mother: Sabra Clayton.

Although hers was a highly advanced stage of the disease I feel for all the families affected by it, not to mention those actually fighting it. I pray that in 30 years I’m not in the same boat she was.
